Swati Maliwal is a social activist and politician. She currently serves as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Delhi. She participated in the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement led by social activist Anna Hazare and later, served as the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women from 2015 to 2024.
Assault Case and Medical Check-up:AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was allegedly assaulted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide.According to a medico-legal case report, Maliwal suffered internal injuries to her face.She underwent a medical check-up at AIIMS, Delhi, which lasted for over three hours.In her complaint, Maliwal alleged that she was physically assaulted, slapped, kicked, beaten with a stick, and punched in the stomach by the aide.The Delhi Police has intensified its search for the accused after an FIR was registered in connection with the case.

Resignation from DCW Chief Position:Swati Maliwal stepped down as the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nominated her for the Rajya Sabha.
Police Investigation:Maliwal reported the assault at Delhi’s Civil Lines police station, but the police have not yet received any formal complaints.The National Commission for Women is sending an inquiry team to look into the alleged assault and requesting a formal action taken report from the Delhi Police.
